This case involved tooth #8 in the esthetic zone, where significant bone loss had compromised the supporting ridge. After extraction, the clinical images revealed a missing buccal bone plate, leaving an inadequate foundation for predictable implant placement. The extraction socket was grafted and protected with a membrane to begin rebuilding the lost bone and preserve the ridge.

After approximately four months of healing, follow-up imaging showed substantial regeneration, but the site still required additional bone augmentation to create adequate bone volume for proper implant positioning and long-term support. CBCT imaging was used to evaluate the regenerated ridge and digitally plan the implant based on the available bone and the desired final tooth position.

This case demonstrates why severe bone-loss cases sometimes require multiple stages of regeneration before an implant can be safely and predictably placed. Rather than compromising the implant position because of insufficient bone, the treatment was staged to rebuild the foundation first and then proceed with implant therapy under carefully planned conditions.
